Holiday Stroll final 2009

Hello Ladies,

You ladies never cease to amaze us. What a wonderful day we had. The room was beautiful and what a fantastic group of talented ladies! We had beautiful music and decor, a raffle to be proud of, plentiful baked goods, a terrific café and the crafted goods were beautiful. Thanks to everyone for your contributions to make this a successful day. Also, thanks to the men who made the setup and breakdown a lot easier. We appreciate you also! The numbers are trickling in and it looks like we did even better than last year. We will have more news on that after Thanksgiving. Check out the blog for pictures in the next week.

Helen is looking for some ladies to sell raffle tickets after the next two weekend Masses. If you think you could help out (it takes about 20 minutes or less) than email hlimina@ems.com If you would rather call, Beth 588-2076 can collect messages and forward to Helen.

Thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving. If you are traveling for Thanksgiving, we wish you a safe trip.

Best Regards,
Denise & Beth

City Reach project 2009/10

Minutes - 2009/10

Divine Mercy Women’s Guild
Business Meeting

October 5, 2009

6:35pm Opening prayer: led by Vi Despres

September 14, 2009 meeting minutes accepted as written.

Corresponding Secretary: Joan Buck read many Thank You cards sent to the Guild for funeral support and for the birthday gift to Fr. Gerry.

Treasurers Report: Cheryl Lastrina provided a proposed budget for 2009-2010. The budget was accepted as written. A new projector was purchased for the Church. Christmas ornaments from the 3 churches are still available for sale. If you have not paid your yearly dues of $5 please see Cheryl.

Helping Hands: Joyce Schmidt reported she now has 32 members who she can count on to bake or give of their time to help out when called on. There were 2 funerals the Guild supported this past month.

Parish Outreach: Gail Caron informed us that this program will determine at a later date what they are planning for the upcoming year. She has suggested the Guild send cards to the nursing home residents.

Comfort Food: Jean Frechette has 37 names on her list to provide meals for those in need. 13 new signatures were obtained at the Outreach and Ministries Fair.

Sue Koziell continues to sell Women’s Guild aprons for $10. Please see Sue if you are interested in ordering one. We wear the aprons at all Women’s Guild supported functions.

New Business:  The attendance sheet was passed around. It included a column asking if you would like to participate in the Prayer Chain. It also asked if you would make calls. Please call Beth McGurty if you wish to be part of the Prayer Chain and were not at the meeting to sign up.

Holiday Stroll: Bass Hall is reserved for November 21st. Sign up sheets for various helping needs will be at the next business meeting. Call Helen Limina if you have any card tables you can lend out. Linda Caracappa requested donations of gift cards for the raffle basket. Helen will arrange with Jim from Plants Alive for a wreath making and kissing ball demonstration. There was a question if the Guild will be extending the Fair to Sunday after the Mass as we have done in the past. This year the hall is being used at that time. Helen will look into the possibility of after Mass sales and has also offered to sit in the hall after the Masses.

Blood Drive: Kathy Sullivan will provide sign up sheets at the November meeting for baking and helping out at the annual blood drive in December.

  • DMWG has entered the technology age with its own blog (a chronological log of the Guild). Maribeth Sullivan has created a blog on the internet for the Women’s Guild.
  • Go to: http://dmwomensguild.blogspot.com/ for meeting minutes and information regarding the Guild. We also have a new email address: dmwomensguild@gmail.com
