Minutes 2016/9


Divine Mercy Women's Guild September 12, 2016

Our annual Potluck dinner began with Mass celebrated by Msgr. Gerry; after Mass everyone proceeded to the parish hall; all current and new Guild Members paid dues and registered.

President Sue Koziell welcomed all in attendance, and after an opening prayer, she invited all ladies to participate in our annual Potluck Dinner.

BUSINESS MEETING 

Sue began the short business meeting by introducing new Guild Members: Bianca LaCroix, Renee Rabideau, Anita Miller and Marjorie Hobbs. She also welcomed returning members: Debbie King and Kim Graham and special guest for the evening: Estelle Cashion. Sue then gave a special THANK YOU to Lauren Martin for helping her by coordinating the Guild’s participation for the Parish picnic, and all the necessary paperwork needed for the September Guild meeting.

Sue then introduced the Guild Officers and Board Members and proceeded to distribute both the evening’s agenda and the yearly calendar.  

Correspondance
Sue read a lovely Thank You note from Stephanie Armstrong to the Women’s Guild for help with the funeral reception for her mother Kathleen Kereazis.

Treasurer’s Report

Beth will present a formal budget report at the October meeting.
  
NEW BUSINESS

Calendar dates were discussed, Sue noted the snow date option for either January or February.  Sign up sheets were distributed for monthly hostess refreshments.

There was discussion regarding the Holiday Stroll regarding publicity.  Karen Bannister will be meeting with all the Fair Groups and address our concerns due to our location change. She will report back to the Guild with additional and necessary information.

Secret Angels
Kathy Sullivan gathered all Secret Angel Forms.  She explained she was hoping for a large participation and that this year Secret Angels will not be revealed until the September 2017 meeting. For those who missed the meeting, they will be able to choose angels at next month’s
meeting.



Announcements

Linda Caracappa will once again be creating raffle baskets and asked for home-made goods (jelly, jam, relish,veggies), gift cards, and any new items that might be put into a basket.  For more questions or more info contact Linda 924-3504

There was discussion regarding our monthly food pantry donation collections and a suggestion was presented to the Guild that money collected each month might be divided between the Food Pantry and the End 68 Hours of Hunger, a non-profit organization that feeds school age children K-12 from Friday after school until Monday morning. Beth motioned that monthly collections could be divided between both organizations, the motion was passed unanimously.

Kim Graham announced a bake sale that her children were having at their home for Louisiana flood victims.

Monday evening, September 19th, at 7 pm in Divine Mercy Hall, Marc Guillemette, Direction of the Office of Catholic Identity will discuss the Diocese of Manchester’s Three Beliefs, a Guide for NH Catholics on End of Life Decisions. There will be a review of the Church’s teaching regarding care and medical treatment at the end of life. Directives forms will be distributed and a Notary will be present for those interested in complete the forms.


The Monadnock Rotary Club’s 11th annual Monadnock Wellness Festival will be held Sept. 24 from 9am to 3pm at the Peterborough Community Center.

 THANK YOU  Ginny Chevalier, Joan Buck, Beth McGurty and Joyce Schmidt for all your work organizing a beautiful potluck dinner; it was a HUGH success and enjoyed by everyone and THANK YOU to all the ladies that helped clean-up afterwards; your assistance was greatly appreciated.
